He was only just announced as a new contributor to CBS News by network chief Bari Weiss last week. But that role could now be in serious jeopardy after newly released court documents revealed his name appeared 1,741 times in files tied to Jeffrey Epstein.
Emails unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice on Friday paint a troubling picture of years-long contact between Attia and Epstein — including after Epstein’s conviction for child sex offenses and up until his federal arrest in 2019.

According to the documents, Attia acknowledged meeting Epstein seven or eight times at Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse between 2014 and the spring of 2019. The records also show ongoing correspondence with Epstein’s inner circle, including longtime assistant Lesley Groff.
In one exchange cited in the files, Attia reportedly joked that he would “go into JE withdrawal” if he didn’t see Epstein soon — a remark that has since sparked widespread outrage as scrutiny around Epstein’s associates intensifies once again.

None of the documents allege criminal charges against Attia, but the revelations have raised fresh questions about judgment, associations, and accountability — especially given his newly announced role at a major news network.
