Elon Musk said Sunday he is prepared to personally fund the legal defense of any survivors of Jeffrey Epstein who choose to publicly identify their alleged abusers but fear being sued for speaking out.
“I will pay for the defense of anyone who speaks the truth about this and is sued for doing so,” Musk wrote in a post on X.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO made the statement while responding to conservative commentator Matt Walsh, who had shared a newly released public service announcement featuring women who say they were abused by Epstein and others connected to him. The video debuted on Super Bowl Sunday and urges Attorney General Pam Bondi to stand with survivors and support full transparency.
In the PSA, the women say they are coming together after years of separation to demand accountability. Holding photos of themselves from the time of their alleged abuse, they emphasize their call for truth, repeating that both survivors and the public deserve answers.
Walsh said he supports releasing every Epstein-related file held by the Justice Department but questioned why the women in the video have not publicly named those they accuse. He argued that the women could identify their alleged abusers directly and raised questions about the timing of their campaign, noting it began shortly after former President Joe Biden left office.

After some users suggested the women feared legal retaliation, Walsh responded that they could provide names to members of Congress, who could disclose them under legal protections. He claimed that option had not been pursued and questioned why.

Musk then entered the discussion, stating he would cover legal costs for any survivor who comes forward and faces lawsuits as a result of naming alleged perpetrators.
The comments come as Musk’s own name appeared in the latest batch of Epstein-related documents released by the Justice Department in late January. Following the release, Musk criticized what he described as biased media coverage and accused political opponents and “bad actors” of using the documents to damage his reputation. He said he expected attempts to smear him after the disclosures.
Epstein, a wealthy financier, was accused of sexually abusing dozens of girls, many of them minors, and died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell was later convicted for her role in recruiting and exploiting victims and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
