Bill Gates is once again addressing his past connection to Jeffrey Epstein — and this time, he isn’t holding back.
After the U.S. Justice Department released millions of additional files linked to Epstein’s case, the Microsoft co-founder called his decision to associate with the disgraced financier a serious mistake. Speaking in an interview with Australia’s Nine News, Gates said he feels deep regret over every moment he spent with Epstein.
“I was foolish to do it,” Gates said. “I regret every minute.”
Gates Pushes Back on Allegations in Epstein Emails
Among the newly released documents were draft emails Epstein reportedly wrote to himself, containing unverified claims about Gates’ personal life.
Some of those messages suggested Epstein helped arrange meetings with women, while another alleged Gates had hidden a sexually transmitted illness from his then-wife, Melinda French Gates.
Gates firmly denied all of it.
He explained that the emails were never sent and said the accusations were completely untrue.
“I don’t know why he wrote those things,” Gates said. “None of it is real. It only reminds me how much I see those meetings as a mistake.”

According to Gates, he first met Epstein in 2011 and had several dinners with him over the years.

“He claimed he could bring in funding for important work,” Gates said. “Looking back, that went nowhere. I was naive to think it would help.”

Gates also rejected claims tying him to Epstein’s private island, where multiple victims say abuse took place.
He said he never traveled there and never engaged in inappropriate behavior.
“As more information becomes public, it will be clearer that while meeting him was a mistake, it had nothing to do with criminal activity,” Gates said.

The latest document release once again highlights how far Epstein’s influence reached, touching some of the world’s most prominent names in business, politics, and technology.
The files reference figures such as:

All have denied any involvement in wrongdoing.
Some of the documents also include photos of Gates with women whose identities were hidden, along with records showing meetings that occurred even after Epstein had served jail time.
Epstein died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting federal sex-trafficking charges. His death was officially ruled a suicide, though public suspicion has lingered for years.

Following the latest revelations, Melinda French Gates made it clear she would not speak on behalf of her former husband.
In a recent podcast appearance, she said any unanswered questions about Epstein belong to those involved — including Gates himself.
“They’re not mine to answer,” she said.
The couple announced their divorce in 2021 after nearly three decades of marriage. Melinda later left the Gates Foundation in 2024, describing the period as emotionally painful and life-changing.
